Add create_option parameter to disk definitions to control whether disks
are created from the base image or are new disks being added to the VMs.
Currently, custom images with data disks defined in the image cannot be
used to launch VMs unless data disk definitions are excluded. This
prevents the data disks from being modified/extended (like selecting a
different SKU or making the data disks bigger). Exposing this option
allows VMSS VMs to be created with base images that have data disks
while extending their definitions.

Currently, the irc module is sending JOIN and PART commands even if the channel
key is not set in the irc module. This causes the module to send JOIN and PART
commands to the #None channel. This module can send PRIVMSGs to either a
channel or a list of nicks, so sending JOIN and PART doesn't make sense in
cases where channel is undefined. The same goes for the TOPIC command, which is
used to set a topic for channels.
This patch ensures that the JOIN, PART and TOPIC commands are only sent if the
channel is defined.

This looks to be causing issues for our new ansible.netcommon
collection. Revert for now, until we can properly address.
This reverts commit 53c7f8cbde.
The edgeos_config module had a list of commands to filter out to avoid
load failures. This list had a single regular expression which caught
commands that attempted to set pre-encrypted passwords. This behavior is
undesirable for a few reasons.
* It's poorly documented. The documentation makes cryptic mention of a
return value that some commands might be filtered out, but offers no
explanation as to what they are or why.
* It's hard-coded. There's no way for the user to change or disable this
functionality, rendering the commands caught by that expression
completely unusable with the edgeos_config module.
* The obvious workaround is unsafe. The filter catches passwords that
are already encrypted, but is perfectly fine letting the user set
plain-text passwords. EdgeOS will encrypt them upon commit, but this
module encourages unsafe handling of secrets up to that point.
* It's a security vulnerability if the user doesn't know about this
behavior. While the module will warn if commands are filtered, the
user won't know what got filtered out until after the fact, and may
easily miss that warning if they are not vigilant. For something as
sensitive as setting a password, it's not hard to imagine naive use of
this module resulting in incorrect credentials being deployed.
* It provides no discernible benefit. Using the module without filtering
does not result in load failures. If those commands are indeed harmful
for some reason on (old?) versions of EdgeOS, it should be incumbent
upon the user to be scrupulous in what commands they issue, rather
than the module maintaining a blacklist of possible ways the user
might misuse their own system.

When key pair is new, croc return dict with an empty list for key KeyPairs that causes ansible to crush.

There are a number of other parameters that result in stack traces as well when this module is used ad-hoc. I'm not sure if we're interested in fixing them all since this module isn't meant to be run ad-hoc.
##### SUMMARY
S3 lifecycle rule prefixes starting with slash (/) have no effects. If an S3 bucket contains a file 'apache.log' under the (virtual) folder 'logs/', for the lifecycle rule to be effective the prefix to be configured must be 'logs/'. If you put '/logs/' (with a trailing slash) as a prefix the file will never be matched by the lifecycle rule.
The example with set_cookie value in cookie header can fail if the server
has set many cookies. The set_cookie value is the cookies sent by server in
set-cookie header, not what the client should send in cookie header to
server.
#33792 introduced cookies_string to solve the problem, but did not update
the uri module example.
content and cookies were also missing from RETURN.
I consistently reach a timeout with the current (10s) timeout. This
commit increases the default value to 30s, this should simplify the life
of our users.
Also, the documentation was incorrect. The value is in second, not minute.

vmware_tag_info used to return dict of tag information which caused
data loss when there are multiple tags with same name and different category ids.
This fix will add additional fact "tag_info" which will deprecated existing fact
"tag_facts".
The "tag_info" is a list which handles multiple tags with same name.

When HostVars are part of the data that goes through (de)serialization

variable manager reference loses some of its attributes due to the

Allow the built in commands for checking boot time to be overridden. This is mainly for containers and other odd systems where it would add too much complexity to the plugin code to try and discern the correct command to use.
On Python 2, leave all fds open since there is no mechanism to close specific fds with subprocess.Popen() on Python 2

While this does properly pass our testing for ansible/ansible devel

Specifically, this would mean ansible.netcommon would need to directly

As AnsibleModule._log_invocation is currently implemented, any parameter
with a name that matches PASSWORD_MATCH triggers the no_log warning as a
precaution against parameters that may contain sensitive data, but have not
been marked as sensitive by the module author.
This patch would allow module authors to explicitly mark the aforementioned
parameters as not sensitive thereby bypassing an erroneous warning message,
while still catching parameters which have not been marked at all by the
author.
Adds tests for various no_log states including True, False, and None (as
extracted by AnsibleModule._log_invocation) when applied to an argument with
a name that matches PASSWORD_MATCH.

Passing an empty string through this parameter is not gracefully handled by the module implementation, so adjust the documentation to only include the `PT0S` method of specifying unbounded `execution_time_limit`. The win_scheduled_task execution_time_limit must be set explicitly to an empty string to permit unbounded execution time.

interface.port should be a string to be able to use macros in that
value.
This fixes the case when interface.port is a macro (eg.: "{$MACRO}" and
force=false.
Because, until now, setting the interface.port to an integer was the correct way to work with force=false, a type validation has been added
to that parameter.
Previously, if a string was used for interface.port, it was converted
to an integer, the comparison didn't work (if interface not in interfaces)
and the module tried to register the same interface twice, returning an
error.
Zabbix API manual specifies that only 'main, 'type', 'useip' and 'bulk'
are integers.

Tests are changed to use always str in the interface.port.
Two new tests are added.
The first one is to show that now registering a host with force=false and
a macro in interface.port works.
The other one tests that interfaces defined using string for port are
compared correctly when force=false is used. Previously it was
a comparison between int and str, interfaces were seen as different
and an error was thrown because we were trying to create twice a main
interface.

CVE-2019-14904 - solaris_zone module accepts zone name and performs actions related to that.
However, there is no user input validation done while performing actions.
A malicious user could provide a crafted zone name which allows executing commands
into the server manipulating the module behaviour.
Adding user input validation as per Solaris Zone documentation fixes this issue.

It seems to me as though the term 'docker' was copy/pasted in; I don't understand what it would mean in the context of iocage. As such, I think removal is best.
Since older versions of paramiko do not require cryptography,
we cannot catch the exact exception from cryptography.
Remove other exceptions since we're catching everything now

When the ansible k8s module is refreshing the tokens from the local kube
config, it should save those token to the kube config file.
If this is not done, this might break the next kube client call as the

When a VM has been provisioned with unmanaged disks (VHD), the URI
schemes used for those disks are kept untouched. Unfortunately, the regexp that
parses the URI only accepts 'https' leading the module to fail if one
uses for instance 'http'.
Please note that the official Azure API documentation uses 'http' and
not 'https' as URI scheme.
Resolves#64506
Testing Done: Using an ARM template, provision a VM with one OS and one
data disk with 'http' as VHD URI scheme. Then use the
azure_rm_virtualmachine module to delete the VM. Finally check that the
module does not fail anymore and that the unmanaged disks are correctly
deleted from the storage account.
The 'azure_rm_storageaccount_info' module was calling the storage client
'list_by_resource_group()' method rather than the 'list()' one, leading
to callers not being able to fetch all the storage accounts of their
subscription.
Issue: #64319
Testing Done: was successfully able to call the module and retrieve
all the storage accounts in the subscription without having to
specify a resource group.
If a NIC has no primary ipConfiguration, the 'primary' field returned
by Azure is set to 'null' thus removed from the 'nic_model'
ipConfigurations properties. Unfortunately the code generating the
hostvars dict. assumes the 'primary' key always exists, leading the
entire host parsing to fail.
This patch changes the way the 'primary' field is accessed by using the
dict. 'get' method with a default value set to 'False'.
Resolves#63721
Testing Done: Run ansible-inventory with an azure_rm plugin that points
to a resource group that contain a two VMs, on with a primary
ipConfiguration and another one without. Check that without the patch
the inventory output does not contain the VMs (or just the one with the
primary ipConfiguration set, depending on the VM names). Finally check
that with the patched azure_rm.py file, both VMs show up.

The ask was to add an option in the vmware_guest itself. Upon inspection, a serial port can
be created in multiple ways and so can be a module in itself. Therefore, created a new module
called vmware_serial_port.

Eliminate `ResourceWarning: unclosed file` by closing all
file handles of each subprocess used by the SSH connection
plugin to execute commands.

This is a fix for a regression introduced by Perfy. Since then we mainly
operate on host.name instead of the Host object. In a call to

led to those vars being undefined.

While deleting gitlab user, several parameters such as email, name,

* Use "default" route info to help pick the default address.
Before this change, the address information used for the "default_ipv4"
and "default_ipv6" information is whatever is first on the interface
identified by the looking up the "default" route. On OpenBSD at
least, the first IPv6 address tends to be a link-local address,
which is not useful if you want to try and put a globally routable
v6 address in a template somewhere.
OpenBSD and NetBSD list the local address used for the default
route, so we can then use that to filter the addresses on the
interface and use the right one when it is available. This should
also help in situations where the interface has a lot of aliases,
or if you're doing IP multipath.
Thanks to John-Mark Gurney and Jared McNeill for providing me output
from the route command on FreeBSD and NetBSD respectively.

Using os_server_action to perform start, stop and pause actions on a
server in OpenStack results in an error when 'wait' is False.
The command is successfully sent to OpenStack, however Ansible fails the

This patch ensures that those actions always exit, whether running with
'wait' set to True or False.
As we are not waiting to confirm the result, this assumes that the

Currently first check was by checksum only, and if there are 2

Previously, this code was re-instantiating the `YumBase` object
many times which is unnecessary and slow. However, we must do it
twice in the `state: absent` case because the `yumSack` and

that the package removal did in fact take place. Also, this patch
removes the repetitive re-processing of enable/disable of repos in

Currently, attach an attached volume from OpenStack VM’s returns only
argument data. It is better to return full data as attaching a detached
volume.
In my use case, I need the extra data to mount and format the volume.
Added support for --hex-blob option to mysql_db module.
This option is for dump binary columns using hexadecimal notation (for example, 'abc' becomes 0x616263).
The affected data types are BINARY, VARBINARY, the BLOB types, and BIT.

This likely applies to all Examples, so this change proposes at least putting in the required parameter in the examples.

The commit 4e895c1 aimed to ensure that TXT record values were sanely
quoted. Sadly it failed to take the scenario of non-existing values
into account. While record values are required for record creation
they are not required for record deletion.
This change rectifies that oversight, saving Ansible from
unsuccessfully trying to operate on NoneType objects.

Previously if the ovirt_vm module was executed without graphical_console
parameter, the task failed with "NoneType has no attribute 'get'". The
problem was that we obtained the graphical_console by
self.param('graphical_console', dict()), which returned None, in case

change the line to self.param('graphical_console') or dict().
In addition to trying the configured url (for ex, a migrated

This change effectively filters out any network interfaces which were
not explicitly configured for the guest. This fixes some unexpected behaviour where a machine with multiple IP addresses (for example, when Docker is installed, an internal IPv4 interface is added to
communicate with the container) would show one of the internal
addresses in the 'ipv4' field, but then no other information about the
corresponding hardware interface.

The yum module docs suggested using `shell: yum clean all`, which gives an `ansible-lint` error. Plus, you should use the `command` module unless you need more advanced features than just passing in an arbitrary command. Fixes that problem by using the `command` module in the example instead.

Using a regular recursive resolver to lookup the zone name might not
work when the zone in question belong to a private/internal
domain. The authoritative server being used on the other hand will
definitely know about the zone(s) it's serving.
This approach is also consistent with the nsupdate module already
querying the specified authoritative server for TTL values.
The reason for the implementation having to loop until finding a
direct match is to account for different SOA responses triggered by
CNAMEs and DNAMEs. The previously used `dns.resolver.zone_for_name()`
function does the same.

apply behaviour. All tests seem to suggest it works, and it's definitely
performed well in real world application, but it may be a breaking
and unexpected change to default to apply
We will let apply bed in during 2.9 and allow people to opt in, we
may default to it in future (or not)
Most of the AWS module documentation refers to `tags` and not
`resource_tags`. This patch updates the documentation to match
other AWS module documentation. 😉

New directory structure created for httpapi-based modules. These will
live in the 'vmware_httpapi' directory under 'modules/cloud'. The
AnsibleModule class was extended to create the VmwareRestModule class
that lives in the 'vmware_httpapi' directory under 'module_utils'. It
implements comms with the httpapi plugin, and also provides debugging
output, url and filtering generation by object, and support for
multiple VMware REST APIs. It also provides dynamic handling of HTTP
return codes that can be tailored to each module's needs.
