When mixed with the free strategy (or any custom strategy that does not behave in
a lock-step manner), the linear methodology of _wait_on_handler_results may cause
race conditions with regular task result processing if the strategy uses
_process_pending_results directly. This patch addresses that by splitting the queues
used for results and adding a flag to _process_pending_results to determine which
queue to check.

This doesn't seem to be used by config although it came in with the
config PR. It's not displayed in docs. Removing it as this is the only
place where it's present.
Since it doesn't make sense to have extra copies of the _info modules in community.general only so that the _facts
symlinks are not in google.cloud, let's simply redirect the _facts modules to their google.cloud _info counterpart.

If existing collections do not contain a MANIFEST.json, which is common

The galaxy lib knew about the cli args in context. This shouldn't be
the case as it makes it hard to use the lib in other contexts. Moved
the context knowledge into cli/galaxy.py.
Trying to build docs for Ansible-2.10 and ran into error #69475
in ansible-doc. To work around that I need to get a newer cyberark
collection which fixes the issues. Unfortunately, it looks like the
cyberark team has renamed their collection from bizdev to pas is not
responding to issues on github. I'm putting in this PR for them to
get this updated before 2.10 so that the modules will work out of the
box.
Since Ansible 2.9.8, if the fileglob plugin is passed a path containing
a subdirectory of a non-existent directory, it will fail. For example:
lookup('fileglob', '/'): ok
lookup('fileglob', '/foo'): (non-existent): ok
lookup('fileglob', '/foo/bar'): (non-existent): FAIL
The exact error depends on Python 2 or 3, but here is the error on
Python 2:
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'endswith'
And on Python 3:
TypeError: expected str, bytes or os.PathLike object, not NoneType
This change fixes the issue by skipping paths that are falsey before
passing them to os.path.join().

that case and automation-hub code will use None for default
to indicate that no sha256 is provided (an available option).

$HOME variable does work with command module. This may be a bug. $HOSTNAME never works. Changing the example to use $HOSTNAME in the Synopsis of command module documentation page.
Left hand side slicing is confusing and slower but maybe more memory
efficient in some circumstances. There is one case where it adds to
code safety: when it's used to substitute a different list in place of a
slice of the original list and the original list could have been bound
to a different variable in some other code. (The most likely case of
this is when it's a global variable and some other code might import
that variable name).
Because of the confusion factor we think it should only be used for the
safety case or where it's been benchmarked and shown to have some sort
of documentatble improvement. At the moment, only one piece of code
falls into those categories so this PR removes all the other instances
of left hand side slicing.

* Make sure collection is a list if a str is given
* Call field validation early on collections
Because we are doing work on modifying the collections value before
it is actually validated, we can validate it ourselves early to make
sure the user supplies either a string or list. Dicts are not valid.
The new validation allows us to simplify the _ensure_default_collection()
function. And since the field is now static, we no longer need to specify
a default for it, which also allows us to simplify the function. Since
the default is now removed, we can also remove the sanity/ignore.txt entry
for collectionsearch.py.
New unit tests are added (and the existing one modified) that allow us to
make sure that we throw a parser error if a user specifies something other
than a string or list for the collections value everywhere it can be specified.
* Revert removing the collection default
The default is actually used, so restore it.
* Fix unit tests in test_helpers.py affected by early collection validation
The call to daemonize() in sysvinit.py was missing the module parameter included in the function definition in service.py.
This pull request simply adds that parameter, as the module is used for error handling in daemonize().
* service_facts: fix for systemd 245
Since systemd 245, `systemctl list-unit-files` comes with a new column
"VENDOR PRESET" [1] and breaks the service_facts module:
$ ansible localhost -m service_facts
localhost | FAILED! => {
"changed": false,
"msg": "Malformed output discovered from systemd list-unit-files: auditd.service disabled disabled "
}
This patch drops the third column to make it work with old and new
systemd. With the new slice operation, IndexError instead of ValueError
is raised if the output contains less than 2 columns.
Test plan: running `ansible-test integration -v service_facts` on
up-to-date Arch Linux

Currently if virtualenv_command has arguments, then the
search for the binary in the path does not work so the
user has to specify the full path to it.
To allow arguments to be used without having to specify
the path to the binary, we split the module argument into
the command and anything after the first space.
This makes using this module argument more flexible and
user friendly.
Fixes: #52275
Change:
Rather than hardcoding .pyo and .pyc, filter on all BLACKLIST_EXTS in
the non-legacy logic of PluginLoader (_find_fq_plugin). The two harcoded
extensions are part of BLACKLIST_EXTS already and this simply adds the
rest of the blacklisted extensions to the check.
In addition, check .endswith() instead of an exact match of the suffix,
like everywhere else that uses BLACKLIST_EXTS. This allows for
blacklisting, for example, emacs's backup files which can appear after
any extension, leading to things like `foo.py~`.
Test Plan:
Ran `ansible-playbook` against a collection where a `foo.py~` module was
getting executed instead of `foo.py` which also appeared in the same
directory. `foo.py~` is no longer executed.

Add create_option parameter to disk definitions to control whether disks
are created from the base image or are new disks being added to the VMs.
Currently, custom images with data disks defined in the image cannot be
used to launch VMs unless data disk definitions are excluded. This
prevents the data disks from being modified/extended (like selecting a
different SKU or making the data disks bigger). Exposing this option
allows VMSS VMs to be created with base images that have data disks
while extending their definitions.

Currently, the irc module is sending JOIN and PART commands even if the channel
key is not set in the irc module. This causes the module to send JOIN and PART
commands to the #None channel. This module can send PRIVMSGs to either a
channel or a list of nicks, so sending JOIN and PART doesn't make sense in
cases where channel is undefined. The same goes for the TOPIC command, which is
used to set a topic for channels.
This patch ensures that the JOIN, PART and TOPIC commands are only sent if the
channel is defined.

This looks to be causing issues for our new ansible.netcommon
collection. Revert for now, until we can properly address.
This reverts commit 53c7f8cbde.
The edgeos_config module had a list of commands to filter out to avoid
load failures. This list had a single regular expression which caught
commands that attempted to set pre-encrypted passwords. This behavior is
undesirable for a few reasons.
* It's poorly documented. The documentation makes cryptic mention of a
return value that some commands might be filtered out, but offers no
explanation as to what they are or why.
* It's hard-coded. There's no way for the user to change or disable this
functionality, rendering the commands caught by that expression
completely unusable with the edgeos_config module.
* The obvious workaround is unsafe. The filter catches passwords that
are already encrypted, but is perfectly fine letting the user set
plain-text passwords. EdgeOS will encrypt them upon commit, but this
module encourages unsafe handling of secrets up to that point.
* It's a security vulnerability if the user doesn't know about this
behavior. While the module will warn if commands are filtered, the
user won't know what got filtered out until after the fact, and may
easily miss that warning if they are not vigilant. For something as
sensitive as setting a password, it's not hard to imagine naive use of
this module resulting in incorrect credentials being deployed.
* It provides no discernible benefit. Using the module without filtering
does not result in load failures. If those commands are indeed harmful
for some reason on (old?) versions of EdgeOS, it should be incumbent
upon the user to be scrupulous in what commands they issue, rather
than the module maintaining a blacklist of possible ways the user
might misuse their own system.
* "openssl_certificate - Add option for changing which ACME directory to use with acme-tiny. Set the default ACME directory to Let's Encrypt instead of using acme-tiny's default. (acme-tiny also uses Let's Encrypt at the time being, so no action should neccessary.)"
* "openssl_certificate - Change the required version of acme-tiny to >= 4.0.0"

previous attempt certainly failed.

* Added omitted logpath parameter to win_domain

* Removed trailing whitespace
* Added logpath option to win_domain module docs
Update the example so that the task name matches the filename being updated
The first example shows how you might template a file to destination /etc/file.conf. The description of this task appears to have a typo as it refers to '/etc/files.conf' rather than '/etc/file.conf'
* Fix#63077
If the package is already installed the stdout is not as expected by this function. Either remove `--needed` or just noop if we detect pacman returning. We cannot match the stdout string, as that is most likely localized.

* Fixes#66478
* When no quantity is set, then candlepin server usually uses
default value 1. When more quantities are required, then
candlepin server can automatically choose correct minimal

* Move warn() and deprecate() methods out of basic.py
* Use _global_warnings and _global_deprications and create accessor functions
- This lays the foundation for future functions being moved outside of AnsibleModule
that need an interface to warnings and deprecations without modifying them.
* Add unit tests for new warn and deprecate functions
Add integration test
There are a number of other parameters that result in stack traces as well when this module is used ad-hoc. I'm not sure if we're interested in fixing them all since this module isn't meant to be run ad-hoc.
##### SUMMARY
S3 lifecycle rule prefixes starting with slash (/) have no effects. If an S3 bucket contains a file 'apache.log' under the (virtual) folder 'logs/', for the lifecycle rule to be effective the prefix to be configured must be 'logs/'. If you put '/logs/' (with a trailing slash) as a prefix the file will never be matched by the lifecycle rule.
The example with set_cookie value in cookie header can fail if the server
has set many cookies. The set_cookie value is the cookies sent by server in
set-cookie header, not what the client should send in cookie header to
server.
#33792 introduced cookies_string to solve the problem, but did not update
the uri module example.
content and cookies were also missing from RETURN.
I consistently reach a timeout with the current (10s) timeout. This
commit increases the default value to 30s, this should simplify the life
of our users.
Also, the documentation was incorrect. The value is in second, not minute.

When HostVars are part of the data that goes through (de)serialization
when being passed from a worker process to the main process, its

implementation of __getstate__ and __setstate__ (perf utilization).
Since HostVars already has those attributes, use __setstate__ to assign
them.

* Removed "encode" on color in get_job_status
In Python3 (tested in 3.8.1), variable.encode('utf-8') returns as a byte string versus just a string in Python2 (tested in 2.7.17). Removed encode method on return of get_job_status when color exists and wrapped in str() for good measure.
* Swap str() for to_native() per feedback
This commit address a problem in static mode, if the hostname change,
`host.name` value with change too. And as a result:
results['dns_config_result'][host.name]
will be initialized.
We now record the initial hostname first, and uses it as the key for the
results.
This commit also ensures hostname and search domain change are detected if
`instance.dnsConfig.dhcp` is true.
Finally, if we target a cluster, the `changed` result will depend on the
number of nodes.

##### SUMMARY
It's not obvious that `q` is the same as `query` (which is referred to in the name of the task) and using long-names is generally preferred in examples.
##### ISSUE TYPE
- Docs Pull Request
+label: docsite_pr
While this does properly pass our testing for ansible/ansible devel
branch, it is currently breaking our collection testing for 2.10.
Specifically, this would mean ansible.netcommon would need to directly
import arista.eos or cisco.nxos collections, causing a circular dependency.
This reverts commit e266e5f8b6.
Some adjustments to be able to run the test-suite properly:
- Starts with the ESXi out of the cluster to be able to deploy the
VM on a proper host consistently
- Ensure the resource pool exists
- The resource pool is called `DC0_C0_RP1`, not `Resources`
- Avoid an exception if we try to move a non existing VM.
Put the test in the zuul/vmware/vcenter_2esxi group.

`make` on FreeBSD (and others) has support for an option `-f` to specify a `Makefile`, whereas GNU make uses `--file` or `-f`. In the interest of portability use `-f` which covers both.

When `name` is specified, it ignores `zone` filter. That is you could not have same tag:Name in different zones.
* Add changelog fragment
* Add collection support with local for supported network platforms
* The legacy behavior of network action plugins using persistent
the framework is to override the connection=local with the actual connection type (network_cli/netconf/httpapi) based
on the value of transport option in provider.
* After the actual connection plugin is identified try to load it from
`ansible.netcommon` collection, if it fails load it from ansible
core. This is done to work with Ansible 2.10 and also maintain backward compatibility for
Ansible 2.9 version to ensure it works with network collections.
* To support this need to pass collection_list value to connection
plugins. As in case of connection=local it loads `persistent`
connection within action plugin which in turn invokes `network_cli`
or `netconf` connection. Similarly `network_cli` connection plugin invokes
`terminal` and `cliconf plugins and `netconf` connection plugin invokes `netconf`
`plugins` based on value on `ansible_network_os`.
* Add deprecation warning for connection=local support and
provider support for applicable platforms
* Fix CI failures
* Allow to not read content from file.
* Allow to feed content directly into _info modules.
* Allow to feed non-primary content into openssl_certificate, openssl_csr and openssl_publickey.

* change changelog fragment, add example
* new connection plugin aws_ssm
Return code may be at the end of the last command output line.
Marking regex.
Ensure command status code is on it's owm line - last 3 lines are not part of command stdout.
* Adding timeout parameter - aws_ssm_timeout
Default 10 second timeout (https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/2.4/intro_configuration.html#timeout) is marginal.
This avoids changing this default and allowing the SSM timeout to be controlled via inventory.
This change wraps commands so commands which may never return do timeout.

As AnsibleModule._log_invocation is currently implemented, any parameter
with a name that matches PASSWORD_MATCH triggers the no_log warning as a
precaution against parameters that may contain sensitive data, but have not
been marked as sensitive by the module author.
This patch would allow module authors to explicitly mark the aforementioned
parameters as not sensitive thereby bypassing an erroneous warning message,
while still catching parameters which have not been marked at all by the
author.
Adds tests for various no_log states including True, False, and None (as
extracted by AnsibleModule._log_invocation) when applied to an argument with
a name that matches PASSWORD_MATCH.

Since 4.0.0 there is a field proxy_address for limiting proxy requests.
Official Docs: "Proxy address If specified then active proxy requests are only accepted from this list of comma-delimited IP addresses, optionally in CIDR notation, or DNS names of active Zabbix proxy.
This field is only available if an active proxy is selected in the Proxy mode field. Macros are not supported.

Docs: the capitalization of the tag should match in the description and the example. Change the example to "Name" (not "name") to match the description above in the efs_info module documentation.
Passing an empty string through this parameter is not gracefully handled by the module implementation, so adjust the documentation to only include the `PT0S` method of specifying unbounded `execution_time_limit`. The win_scheduled_task execution_time_limit must be set explicitly to an empty string to permit unbounded execution time.
A newly created task without a value for `TaskSettings.ExecutionTimeLimit` will default to 72 hours (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/taskschd/tasksettings-executiontimelimit) even if you omit the Ansible task parameter `execution_time_limit`.

In addition to signing update queries also use the TSIG key to sign
lookup queries. By doing that we allow a hidden master to not only to
be looked down network wise, but also TSIG wise.
A bonus benefit of threating update queries and lookup queries more
the same is that will allow for all queries to be refactored into a
shared helper method. Currently we have a bit too much duplicated code
within the module.

interface.port should be a string to be able to use macros in that
value.
This fixes the case when interface.port is a macro (eg.: "{$MACRO}" and
force=false.
Because, until now, setting the interface.port to an integer was the correct way to work with force=false, a type validation has been added
to that parameter.
Previously, if a string was used for interface.port, it was converted
to an integer, the comparison didn't work (if interface not in interfaces)
and the module tried to register the same interface twice, returning an
error.
Zabbix API manual specifies that only 'main, 'type', 'useip' and 'bulk'
are integers.
https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/current/manual/api/reference/hostinterface/object
Tests are changed to use always str in the interface.port.
Two new tests are added.
The first one is to show that now registering a host with force=false and
a macro in interface.port works.
The other one tests that interfaces defined using string for port are
compared correctly when force=false is used. Previously it was
a comparison between int and str, interfaces were seen as different
and an error was thrown because we were trying to create twice a main
interface.
* Try to kindly convert interface port to the string
As suggested, the previous behaviour could break current configurations. This solution accepts integers and strings.

CVE-2019-14904 - solaris_zone module accepts zone name and performs actions related to that.
However, there is no user input validation done while performing actions.
A malicious user could provide a crafted zone name which allows executing commands
into the server manipulating the module behaviour.
Adding user input validation as per Solaris Zone documentation fixes this issue.

It seems to me as though the term 'docker' was copy/pasted in; I don't understand what it would mean in the context of iocage. As such, I think removal is best.
Since older versions of paramiko do not require cryptography,
we cannot catch the exact exception from cryptography.
Remove other exceptions since we're catching everything now
Previously you'd get one of the following behaviours:
- A boto3 error
- Nothing would change
- An error that you're not allowed to change the strategy
So of the bahaviour would depend on the random order that AWS returns the list of all Placement Groups

* Just use simpler debug tasks
Although it's not enforced that fail_json['msg'] should be a string
[1], I think it is pretty strongly implied.
In this case the failure_response['msg'] is sent through as the
fail_json['msg'], and the trailing commas here turn it into a tuple.
It's not clear if this is a typo or intended, but it does cause
problems for callbacks that expect this as a string (e.g. [2]).
Since there seems no point to having these values as a tuple, remove
the trailing commas so they return a string as per everywhere else.

When the ansible k8s module is refreshing the tokens from the local kube
config, it should save those token to the kube config file.
If this is not done, this might break the next kube client call as the
token in the local kube config file is not valid anymore and refreshing
can fail.
This commit is adding an env var K8S_AUTH_PERSIST_CONFIG that can be
used to set this flag to true (default is false, same as current
behavior).

* ufw: escalate privileges in integration tests
A few of the integration tests for the UFW module forgot to `become`.
This is problematic if the test suite is executed as a non-privileged

* ufw: add unit tests for direction and interface
Extend the unit tests for the UFW module to test the `direction` and
`interface` parameters. This will help in the implementation of a fix
for issue #63903.
* ufw: add support for interface_in and interface_out
The UFW module has support for specifying `direction` and `interface`
for UFW rules. Rules with these parameters are built such that
per-interface filtering only apply to a single direction based on the
value of `direction`.
Not being able to specify multiple interfaces complicates things for
`routed` rules where one might want to apply filtering only for a
specific combination of `in` and `out` interfaces.
This commit introduces two new parameters to the UFW module:
`interface_in` and `interface_out`. These rules are mutually exclusive
with the old `direction` and `interface` parameter because of the
ambiguity of having e.g.:
direction: XXX
interface: foo
interface_XXX: bar

* Elevate privileges for luks_device integration tests
Several tests in `key-management.yml` don't `become` before executing,
despite needing elevated privileges. This commit fixes that.
* Add passphrase support for luks_device
Previously, the luks_device module only worked with keyfiles. The
implication was that the key had to be written to disk before the module
could be used.
This commit implements support for opening, adding and removing
passphrases supplied as strings to the module.

When a VM has been provisioned with unmanaged disks (VHD), the URI
schemes used for those disks are kept untouched. Unfortunately, the regexp that
parses the URI only accepts 'https' leading the module to fail if one
uses for instance 'http'.
Please note that the official Azure API documentation uses 'http' and
not 'https' as URI scheme.
Resolves#64506
Testing Done: Using an ARM template, provision a VM with one OS and one
data disk with 'http' as VHD URI scheme. Then use the
azure_rm_virtualmachine module to delete the VM. Finally check that the
module does not fail anymore and that the unmanaged disks are correctly
deleted from the storage account.
The 'azure_rm_storageaccount_info' module was calling the storage client
'list_by_resource_group()' method rather than the 'list()' one, leading
to callers not being able to fetch all the storage accounts of their
subscription.
Issue: #64319
Testing Done: was successfully able to call the module and retrieve
all the storage accounts in the subscription without having to
specify a resource group.
If a NIC has no primary ipConfiguration, the 'primary' field returned
by Azure is set to 'null' thus removed from the 'nic_model'
ipConfigurations properties. Unfortunately the code generating the
hostvars dict. assumes the 'primary' key always exists, leading the
entire host parsing to fail.
This patch changes the way the 'primary' field is accessed by using the
dict. 'get' method with a default value set to 'False'.
Resolves#63721
Testing Done: Run ansible-inventory with an azure_rm plugin that points
to a resource group that contain a two VMs, on with a primary
ipConfiguration and another one without. Check that without the patch
the inventory output does not contain the VMs (or just the one with the
primary ipConfiguration set, depending on the VM names). Finally check
that with the patched azure_rm.py file, both VMs show up.
* Replaced 'ansible_facts' by 'foreman_facts'
'foreman_facts' is the key that the foreman inventory script used
'ansible_facts' is a special key that is overwritten internally and has never worked in this inventory plugin
* Added changelog
Lookup 'first_found' returns empty list which results in
raw_params checking. Check NoneType for 'raw_params' before
proceeding.

The ask was to add an option in the vmware_guest itself. Upon inspection, a serial port can
be created in multiple ways and so can be a module in itself. Therefore, created a new module
called vmware_serial_port.

Fixes#64768
* Adjust conditional for disabling alert email
Conditional was improperly disabling existing alert email when it was found enabled. The expectation is that it should only disable if module.param['enabled'] was set to false.
* Adjusted disable logic
Added back in the logic of only disabling the alert email if it is module.params['enabled'] is false AND current value of enabled is true on the array
This is a fix for a regression introduced by Perfy. Since then we mainly
operate on host.name instead of the Host object. In a call to
set_nonpersistent_facts where we set ansible_failed_task and
ansible_failed_result variables we were still passing the object which
led to those vars being undefined.

This fixes a regression that was caused by switching from copy() to
deepcopy() when 'saving' variables before templating. Since HostVars

* Use "default" route info to help pick the default address.
Before this change, the address information used for the "default_ipv4"
and "default_ipv6" information is whatever is first on the interface
identified by the looking up the "default" route. On OpenBSD at
least, the first IPv6 address tends to be a link-local address,
which is not useful if you want to try and put a globally routable
v6 address in a template somewhere.
OpenBSD and NetBSD list the local address used for the default
route, so we can then use that to filter the addresses on the
interface and use the right one when it is available. This should
also help in situations where the interface has a lot of aliases,
or if you're doing IP multipath.
Thanks to John-Mark Gurney and Jared McNeill for providing me output
from the route command on FreeBSD and NetBSD respectively.
* Use "route get default" to get default route information.
Using some other arbitrary address makes these facts produce
unexpected results in some situations.

* Fix review comments
Using os_server_action to perform start, stop and pause actions on a
server in OpenStack results in an error when 'wait' is False.
The command is successfully sent to OpenStack, however Ansible fails the
task:
fatal: [127.0.0.1]: FAILED! => {
"changed": false,
"msg": "New-style module did not handle its own exit"
}
This patch ensures that those actions always exit, whether running with
'wait' set to True or False.
As we are not waiting to confirm the result, this assumes that the
actions were successful.
