Gonéri Le Bouder	4b99a2ac50	vmware: use hostname in esxi_hostname The use of the `hostvars[esxi1].ansible_host` was attempt to use different hostname and IP address. But it's actually the source of more problems. VMware expects to be able to resolvable the host name. This means, that if someone wants to run the test-suite, s/he needs to use a DNS or update the `/etc/hosts` files on the different hosts.	6 years ago

Christian Kotte	2f44ac4edc	VMware: Fix module vmware_host (#46225 ) * Add folder_name alias The parameter should be named folder_name instead of folder to be consistent with the other parameters cluster_name and datacenter_name. * Fix 'A specified parameter was not correct: cnxSpec' error The play fails when re-connecting a host with the cnxSpec argument defined. Just remove the cnxSpec argument definition. It isn't necessary when re-connecting an existing host in vCenter (6.5). * Fix ESXi host add/remove/re-connect errors An ESXi host cannot be added, removed, or re-connected under a folder. ESXi hosts connected under a folder, instead of a cluster, have an object type of ComputeResource instead of HostSystem and the HostSystem object is the first entry in the host parameter list of the ComputeResource object. Separate between cluster and folder actions.	6 years ago

tchernomax	29bed12cdd	vmware_host: add reconnect and add_or_reconnect states (#30582 ) * vmware_host: add reconnect and add_or_reconnect states Add "reconnect" and "add_or_reconnect" choices for "state". * reconnect: reconnect an esxi to a vcenter (imply it is present). * add_or_reconnect: do the same but add the esxi if absent. Also: * tag the cluster_name as required (because it is). * tag esxi_username and esxi_password as not required because they aren't when the esxi isn't added. * vmware_host: add + prepare/document integration tests vmware_host module Add integration test for the add part of "add_or_reconnect" state. Prepare and document integration tests for the reconnect part of "add_or_reconnect" state and "reconnect" and "absent" states. Currently we can't test those states as ReconnectHost_Task (for "reconnect") and EnterMaintenanceMode_Task (for "absent") aren't implemented yet in vcsim (from vmware/govmomi)	7 years ago
